Membership of Climbing New Zealand

Membership of Climbing New Zealand is vested in the affiliated clubs, rather than individuals. There are no indivdual membership categories that carry voting rights under the Climbing New Zealand constitution that was adopted in 2009. This ensures we have a regional representation on the Board and ensures all views are taken into account.

By joining a club you are supporting the development of climbing throughout New Zealand. Clubs deliver training programmes and competition and outdoor opportunities.

Domestic Licenses

A domestic license is required to compete in a Climbing New Zealand competition and these are issued by the local clubs. Please contact your local club for information on obtaining a license and joining their club.

New Clubs

We have clubs representing the majority of New Zealand, but if you have a local group already and are interested in forming a new club, then please contact info@climbing.org.nz for a copy of our club development kit.

To affiliate a club to Climbing New Zealand you will need to be an incorporated society, or in the process of becoming and incorporated society. We have a flexible membership scheme allowing your club time to develop before full affiliation fees are due.

By forming a club you can help Climbing New Zealands drive to lead sportclimbing development in our country.
